Block booking basics
How does a team room block work?
A room block is a set of suites held under one group name for one set of dates, so a team arrives together and is not left hoping for space once the schedule is confirmed. In general terms, this is how it runs.
- One organiser speaks for the team. Usually a team manager or coach. That person sends the inquiry, receives the written quote and is the single point of contact, so families ask the organiser rather than each calling the resort.
- The organiser sends a rooming list. A simple table: suite type, the names of the people in it, and their arrival and departure dates. Draft it early and expect to update it as families confirm.
- Families book within the block. Each family reserves its own suite under the group name rather than booking separately on a travel site. This keeps the block intact and everyone close together where possible.
- The terms come with the written quote. How long the block is held, how families reserve and pay, and what happens if a family drops out are set out in the quote itself. The resort does not publish standard block terms online, so ask about anything you are unsure of before you accept.

Suite planning
How do you split a team between two- and three-bedroom suites?
Every suite at WorldQuest Orlando Resort is a condominium with separate bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a full kitchen. Players and parents get their own doors, and the living room becomes the place for team meetings. The two suite types sleep different numbers, so the rooming list starts with who is travelling.

- Some suites have a sleeper sofa. Not all do. If a family is counting on one, call the front desk before arrival so it can be noted on the reservation.
- Ten people need two suites. A three-bedroom sleeps six to eight. A larger family group should plan on a second suite.

Meals in the suite
How do you feed a team from a suite kitchen?
Tournament food is where families save the most money and time. Every suite has a full kitchen with pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery, a coffee maker with a starter pack of coffee, and a dining room. There is no restaurant or room service on site, so the kitchen is the plan, not the backup.
Get groceries delivered to arrive with you
Guests may bring their own food and drink and can arrange grocery delivery timed to arrival. The resort works with Orlando Grocery Express, and any local store that delivers will work too. If you would rather shop, Publix and Walmart are about two miles away. One big run on Thursday evening covers most teams through Sunday.
Breakfast before early games
Early game times are why the kitchen earns its keep. Oatmeal, eggs, toast, fruit and yogurt take ten minutes in a suite and no time in a drive-through line. Set the coffee maker up the night before. Pack a cooler with sandwiches, fruit and water for the day, because a trip back between games is rarely worth it.
When you forgot something
The 24-Hour Corner Pantry in the lobby carries snacks, cold drinks, frozen meals, breakfast items and the everyday things people forget. Coffee is served in the lobby from 7 to 11am. For an evening off from cooking, the poolside Tiki Bar serves food, cocktails, beer and Starbucks® coffee daily from 11am to 7pm, with a happy hour from 3 to 4pm.
Laundry
Where do you wash uniforms between games?
In your own suite. Every suite has a washer and dryer, and the welcome starter kit includes laundry detergent. Run the uniforms as soon as you get back from the fields and they are dry before dinner. Bring your own stain remover and enough detergent for a second and third load, since the starter pack is a starter, not a weekend’s supply.
The resort does not offer a laundry or dry-cleaning service, but several dry cleaners are within two miles.
Tournament logistics
How do you get a team to ESPN Wide World of Sports on time?
ESPN Wide World of Sports is 4.7 miles from the resort, about an eight-minute drive without traffic. There is no resort shuttle to the complex, so teams drive, which is simple when everyone is staying in one place.
- Set a convoy departure time. Agree one time to leave, and have cars gather in the parking lot ten minutes earlier. Self-parking is complimentary, so there is no ticket or valet to slow anyone down.
- Allow for park-hour traffic. Orlando roads are busiest around theme park opening and closing. If a game falls near those hours, leave earlier than eight minutes suggests.
- Share one drop-off plan. Check the tournament’s own parking and entry instructions the night before and send them to every driver with the field number.
- Keep the gate details handy. WorldQuest is a gated property with controlled access and on-site security. Make sure every driver knows how to get back in after a late finish.

Downtime
What do players and parents do between games?
Protect the downtime. There is enough on site that nobody needs to get back in the car.
- Heated outdoor pool and hot tub. The pool is heated seasonally from mid-October through mid-March, runs from a 3 ft shallow end to 5 ft, and has a deck with loungers and umbrellas. The hot tub is where sore legs go.
- Cabanas for the parents. Private cabanas with seating, a ceiling fan and full shade are rented by the day. Reserve at the front desk; pricing varies by season and availability.
- Tiki Bar, 11am to 7pm. Poolside food and drinks, with a happy hour from 3 to 4pm.
- A day off at the parks. The complimentary shuttle serves EPCOT® and Disney’s Hollywood Studios®; reserve at the Concierge desk at least 30 minutes ahead, subject to availability. A shuttle to Universal Orlando Resort runs at $5.00 per person, per trip. The Concierge Desk sells park tickets daily from 7:00am to 12:00pm.

What should be on the day-of-game and packing lists?
Day-of-game checklist
- Uniform, spare uniform, socks. Both colours if the tournament requires them.
- Cleats, shin guards, gloves, mouthguard. Whatever the sport calls for, checked the night before.
- Cooler. Water, sandwiches, fruit, salty snacks, refilled from the suite.
- Sunscreen and a hat. Florida fields have very little shade.
- Folding chairs and a shade canopy. Check the venue’s rules on canopies first.
- Field number, departure time, charged phone. Schedules change by text.
Packing list for the weekend
- Extra detergent and stain remover. The starter pack covers the first load.
- Reusable water bottles and breakfast basics. Or add them to the grocery delivery order.
- Swimsuits and slides. For the heated pool, the hot tub and tired feet after cleats.
- A printed tournament schedule. In case a phone dies.
- ID and a credit card for the adult checking in. Required at check-in; minimum age 21.

Does every family in the block pay for its own suite?

Is there a shuttle to ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Can a player or a 19-year-old assistant coach check in for a suite?
No. The minimum check-in age is 21, and the person checking in needs a valid credit card and government-issued photo ID. Plan for a parent or an adult chaperone to check in for each suite, and put that person’s name on the rooming list.
Is there somewhere for a team meeting?
The resort has no meeting or event space; it offers guest suites only. In practice, teams meet in the living and dining rooms of a three-bedroom suite, which hold a squad and its coaches. The pool deck works for an informal gathering, and cabanas can be reserved at the front desk.
What if our last game runs past check-out on Sunday?
Check-out is 11:00am. Luggage can be stored at the Front Office after check-out, so families can load the cars, play the final and collect bags afterwards. A late check-out costs $100 and is subject to availability, not guaranteed; anything past 4:00pm is charged as a full night.
Can we arrange food for the whole team?
